Let the circle have center OO and radius R,R, with A=(R,0),A = (R, 0), B=(0,R),B = (0, R), C=(R,0),C = (-R, 0), D=(0,R),D = (0, -R), and P=(Rcosθ,Rsinθ).P = (R\cos\theta, R\sin\theta). Then PA2=2R2(1cosθ)PA^2 = 2R^2(1 - \cos\theta) and PC2=2R2(1+cosθ),PC^2 = 2R^2(1 + \cos\theta), so PAPC=2R2sinθ=56.PA \cdot PC = 2R^2|\sin\theta| = 56.
